The Plan side

A plan is only as good as the year it was last reviewed

The Plan side is shared by your household and your firm. Each spouse's review answers stay private from the other; the firm sees both. Here is everything on it, with what each feature does and which plan includes it.

Review sent: the Caldwell household

Moved to Texas

Review the trust schedule. Texas is a community property state with no estate tax.

The annual review

Basic, free

Six short parts, about 25 minutes, once a year. Saves as you go.

Your information and the year's changes, your planning objectives, the structure of your plan, the people in it, a funding checkup, and your non-financial wealth. Each part opens with a short video guide. Flags go to your firm; nothing changes your plan by itself. When you are done you certify, type your name, and a dated copy is filed to your vault and your firm.

Meeting requests

Basic, free

Ask your firm for a meeting from your home screen or from any flagged item.

A reason and your preferred times become a task for the firm, which marks it scheduled. Every milestone and every flag on your review summary carries a Request a meeting button.

Reminders and lead-up emails

Basic, free

An invitation, a pre-notice 30 days out, a reminder at 7, a note on the day, two follow-ups.

The sequence runs by itself, one step per window, and stops the moment the review is complete. Nothing goes out late in a pile, and nothing goes out after 45 days past the date.

Law updates by state

Basic, free

Short pieces from your attorney and from Legacy Guard, filtered to your state.

Your firm writes and releases its own updates. Legacy Guard keeps a master library for every state and for each state on its own. Clients see the ones written for everyone and the ones written for their state. Complete adds the full library with what each one means for you.

Plan Health score

Basic, free

One number from 0 to 100 for how current your plan is, and the two moves that would raise it.

Points for a current review, funding done, every role named, core documents on file, the people you named knowing it, a started legacy section, and nothing waiting on your firm. Computed live, never stored.

Something changed? check-ins

Basic, free

Tell your firm with a tap when life changes, and get the next step.

Ten events: marriage or divorce, a birth or adoption, a death in the family, a move to another state, a home bought or sold, a business started or sold, retirement, an inheritance, a named person who can no longer serve, a health change. A move shows the new state's rules and what changes. Each becomes a flag for your firm.

Milestones ahead

Basic, free

The dates in the next two years that matter for your plan, with a calendar file.

Birthdays that change the rules (59 and a half, 62, 65, 70, 73, 75), the next review, coverage dates, documents turning five years old, and open funding steps, each with why it matters. Add to my calendar downloads an .ics file.

The people in your plan

Basic, free

Everyone you named, what each job means, and a heads up email so they know.

One card per person merged across roles, with two boxes: they know they were named, and they know where the documents are. Send them a heads up in your own words from your firm's sender, with a copy to you.

Protect the people you love

Basic, free

Send a parent, a child, or a friend to your firm so their plan is in order too.

They get an introduction from the firm in your first name; the firm gets a copy and tracks the status.

Export everything

Basic, free

One click builds an archive that works without Legacy Guard. On every plan.

Your plan summary, the people, assets, documents, every story and letter, photos and recordings, recipients and messages, the Organizer, and the review records. Stories are decrypted on your own device as the file is built; it never sits on a server in the clear.

Document vault

Complete

Your signed documents in one place, ready to open any time.

One row per document with who it belongs to, the date, and Open. Add a trust, will, power of attorney, health care directive, HIPAA release, or anything else as a PDF or photo up to 25 MB. Every open is logged.

How your plan works

Complete

A picture of your plan in living, first death, and second death, with your attorney's walkthrough.

Your firm uploads the plan diagram and a recorded walkthrough, or you see the general living trust explainer. The trust name, the signing date, and the annual review records sit beside it.

Funding tracker

Complete

Every asset, what connects it to your trust, and what still needs a step.

Each asset shows its owner, funding method (retitle to the trust, beneficiary designation, POD to the trust, or no action needed), and status. Adding or removing one becomes a task for your firm. Legacy Guard never asks for account numbers, logins, or statements.

Sharing with family and advisors

Complete

Choose who can see which parts of your plan, view only, and change your mind any time.

Family, Advisor, or Successor roles across six sections. Review answers are never shareable. The Successor role unlocks only after a verified release.

Ask Legacy Guard

Complete

A friendly helper that explains your plan and flags questions for your attorney.

Ask what a trustee does or what happens at the first death. Anything it cannot answer becomes a question on your review summary for your attorney.

Emergency card

Complete

A wallet card with a QR code that reaches your health care directive and contacts in an emergency.

The public page shows your firm's phone, that a directive is on file, your health care agents, and your physician. You choose what shows, can disable the card, and can regenerate the link. Each view is recorded by device type only.

Family Summary

Complete

A one page, print ready summary of your whole plan for your important papers.

The people in the plan, where the documents are, funding by asset, your firm's contact, Plan Health, the emergency QR, and your state's rules.

Survivor roadmap

Complete

A calm, step by step guide for a surviving spouse or family, with your firm's phone at the top.

Four phases: the first 48 hours, two weeks, 90 days, and the first year. 27 steps with checkboxes that persist, the steps your firm handles marked with its name, and the aftercare partner when your firm has one.

Your state's rules

Basic, free

Plain language estate planning facts for all 50 states and DC, kept current by Legacy Guard.

Estate tax, inheritance tax, community property, small estate limits, transfer on death deeds, probate, homestead, and vehicles. Shown on your Family Summary, when you report a move, and in your review.
